Continuous Improvement Engineer

Entech Staffing Solutions is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer. This position pays $80,000-110,000/year. Engineering degree required.

Primary Functions and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with leadership to identify and select processes or projects for inclusion in the organization’s continuous improvement initiatives
  • Establish key performance indicators; evaluate current state, and propose future state goals and objectives, assist in implementation
  • Develop and monitor implementation of process changes meant to result in: cost and/or waste reduction, quality and/or productivity improvement and customer satisfaction
  • Leads and drive completion of projects on time with limited supervision to support business goals
  • Ensure daily production requirements are met while maintaining high standards of quality
  • Develops and communicates work schedules for production lines and assigns staff as needed
  • Prompt resolution of production related issues, review capacity and daily goals to ensure on time delivery
  • Facilitate internal production meetings and build solid working relationship with employees
  • Participates in plant staffing activities including interviewing and selection
  • Conducts performance reviews for direct reports and ensures performance reviews are conducted for all manufacturing employees
  • Recommends wage increases and promotions; identifies and prioritizes personnel developmental needs; conducts disciplinary discussions
  • Organize, motivate, manage and develop employees while holding them accountable
  • Support investigations into non-conformances and develop corrective and preventive action
  • Participate in on site customer audits, ISO audits and IATF audits
  • Work together with quality personnel to analyze documentation for compliance to ISO/IATF and develop documentation as required
  • Ensures compliance with all health and safety regulations
  • Lead safety committee together with HR; conducts safety meetings regularly
  • Communicates expectations; investigates and documents all incidents
  • Responsible for the development, training, implementing, and sustaining of  lean events, 5S, Visual Controls, Standard Work, TPM, etc
  • Prioritizes facility equipment maintenance and facility housekeeping
  • Provide data and analytical support for presentations and business reviews as required
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of lean manufacturing methods and problem solving techniques
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Access, Project, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Self-motivated; ability to work both in a team environment and independently
  • Analytical and structured working methods
  • Ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner; manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical and communication skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering
  • 3+ years’ experience managing production operations and direct reports in a fast-paced environment
  • ERP and CAD experience
  • Proficiency in 5s
