Quality Manager - Pontiac, MI

Duties:

  • Provides guidance, directions and trainings to his/her employees including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
  • Generates specific goals and plans (with respect to product quality control) to accomplish strategic company goals including but not limited to KPIs.
  • With understanding internal/external customer’s requirements, develops Internal and external quality control policies & monitoring process & system, and maintain its integrity with other department and vendors.
  • Generates and maintains quality control operating budgets.
  • Using knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services conducts customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Must have knowledge in order to be able to participate quality control activities in APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, FEMA and ISO/TS 16949 & IATF 16949.
  • Lead supplier development projects from the quality control aspect.
  • Leads vendor quality control activities, and maintains vendor’s quality integrity.
  • Monitor and review information from materials, events and all possible sources in order to detect or assess its root cause with an ability to solve the problem with proper documentation.
  • Analyze quality control test results and provide feedback and interpretation to production management or staff.
  • Conducts tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
  • Monitors performance of quality control systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Review Statistical studies, technological advances, or regulatory standards and trends to stay abreast of issues in the field of quality Conducts internal audits based on customer's requirements.
  • Must have strong problem solving skills with hands on attitude.
  • Ability to read and comprehend part drawings in CAD.

  • APQP - Advanced Product Quality Planning 2nd Edition, Control Plan and PPAP.
  • FMEA - Failure Mode and Effects Analysis.
  • CEP - Statistical Process Control.
  • Approval Process PPAP Production Part.
  • GD&T module, Fundamentals and Design Interpretation with use of GD&T.
  • Quality & statistical tools including Minitab.

Additional Info:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or above is desired.
  • Must have a deep understanding of Mechanical Engineering or similar field.
  • 3-4 years' experience in Quality control or test lab.
  • Salary: $40,000 – $70,000 /Year
