Finish Carpenter (2nd Shift)

Are you a skilled Finish Carpenter looking for a dynamic role with a growing team? We’re seeking dedicated craftspeople to join our 2nd shift and contribute to our high-quality woodworking projects. What You’ll Do

As a Finish Carpenter on our 2nd shift, you’ll be instrumental in bringing designs to life. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assembly & Fabrication: Gluing, fitting, and clamping parts and subassemblies to create square and complete units.

  • Hardware Installation: Installing hardware and ensuring a perfect fit.

  • Material Finishing: Spraying glue, applying laminate and veneer, and expertly sanding/filing products to achieve a flawless finish.

  • Tool Operation: Utilizing a range of power tools including driver-drills, power nailers, staplers, hand routers, sanders, table saws, miter saws, and jigsaws to perform your duties.

  • Workplace Safety & Maintenance: Maintaining a clean and organized work area, keeping the floor clear of debris, and performing basic maintenance on hand tools and glue pots.

  • Adherence to Standards: Performing all job duties according to standard safety practices and DFab safety standards.

  • Other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor.


What We’re Looking For

We’re open to candidates with a range of finish carpentry skill levels, as long as you have solid tool, saw, and woodworking experience. Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Measuring & Hand Tool Proficiency: Basic knowledge of measuring tools (tape measure, ruler, meter gauges) and hand carpentry tools.

  • Blueprint & Material Handling: The ability to read and follow written directions and basic shop drawings, and to accurately measure and cut raw materials such as plywood, particleboard, MDF, sheet plastic, and various hardwoods.

  • Wood Identification: The ability to identify woods by species or variety.

  • Saw & Router Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge and use of routers, table saws, and sliding table saws.

  • Project Management: An understanding of quality control and time management, along with the ability to prepare precise cut lists.

  • Bonus Points: A general understanding of signage and graphics materials, substrates, and manufacturing processes would be a significant advantage!


Physical Requirements

This role requires physical stamina and attention to safety:

  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds of material on a regular basis.

  • The ability to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.

  • Performing repetitive movements.

  • Safety glasses must be worn at all times while in the shop.


Schedule

  • 2nd Shift Hours: Monday through Thursday, 2:30 PM to 1:00 AM.

  • Overtime (OT) may be required on Fridays and/or Saturdays based on business needs.

  • $18.00 -19.00/hr.
