Role Overview
We are seeking a high-energy, technically proficient Sales Engineer with a deep background in fastener engineering to join our team in Troy. This role is the critical link between our advanced fastening solutions and our global customer base. You will serve as the primary technical consultant, identifying new opportunities to integrate our products into complex engineering projects while managing the full sales lifecycle—from initial quotation to long-term relationship management.
Key Responsibilities

Technical Engineering Support: Serve as the subject matter expert for customers on fastener applications, ensuring optimal product selection and integration.

Business Development: Proactively identify and capture new opportunities within existing accounts; present technical capabilities to convince customers of our value proposition.

Customer Relationship Management: Build and sustain long-term partnerships with key personnel in Engineering and Purchasing departments.

Account Management: Lead internal activities related to new quotations, cost estimation, price negotiations, and engineering change requests (ECR) to ensure timely customer responses.

Strategic Growth: Execute strategic market plans to ensure long-term growth in both current and emerging markets; gather and analyze competitive intelligence.

Field Engagement: Travel to customer sites (approximately 20%) to ensure product satisfaction, host business meetings, and promote the company brand.

Financial Liaison: Support the finance group regarding customer payment topics and track/negotiate price changes as needed.
Minimum Qualifications

Fastener Engineering Expertise: Minimum of 6+ years of direct experience in fastener engineering and applications.

Communication Mastery: Advanced verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to lead group presentations and influence decision-makers.

Negotiation Skills: Strong knowledge of closing techniques and a track record of successful price and contract negotiations.

Organizational Excellence: Superior time management, project management, and problem-solving skills.

Global Collaboration: Ability to establish effective working relationships with global customers, sales reps, and internal engineering managers.

Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Windows-based environments.
