  • CNC Lathe operating experience

  • Mastercam experience

Applicants without G&M coding, lathe, and Mastercam experience will not be considered.

Shifts Available

  • 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

  • 2nd Shift: 5:30 PM – 2:00 AM

About the Role

We are a small, well-organized machine shop in Shelby Township seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Operator with hands-on G&M coding and Mastercam experience. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a tight-knit shop environment, values quality, and takes pride in precision machining.

Key Responsibilities

  • Load and unload parts in CNC lathe machines

  • Monitor machine cycles and edit offsets and G&M code as needed

  • Operate machines safely and efficiently to produce in-tolerance parts

  • Clean and lubricate machines; clear chips and maintain proper coolant levels

  • Monitor coolant concentration using a refractometer (training provided if needed)

  • Perform in-process inspections using:

    • Calipers

    • Micrometers

    • Dial gages

    • Bore gages

    • Thread (ring/plug) gages

  • Identify and report mechanical, electrical, or software issues

  • Maintain accurate production, inspection, and setup records

  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE

  • Participate in 5S activities, including workstation organization and cleaning

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience with CNC lathes

  • Strong understanding of G & M codes

  • Mastercam experience (editing or programming preferred)

  • Ability to move between machines and handle parts throughout the shift

  • Reliable attendance and punctuality

  • Good communication skills and attention to detail

Preferred (Not Required)

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Experience with FANUC and/or SIEMENS controls

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and 2D drawings

  • Saw operation experience

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

  • Knowledge of shop safety standards
