CNC Machinist

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join a dynamic manufacturing team located in Shelby Township, MI. This role is essential for producing high-precision parts and components through the expert programming, setup, and operation of CNC machinery. You will collaborate closely with our engineering team to meet production goals while maintaining our rigorous quality standards.

Job Overview

  • Focus: CNC Programming (MasterCAM), Setup, and Operation

  • Environment: Precision manufacturing with a focus on safety and organization

Responsibilities

  • Machine Operation: Operate CNC Lathes, Mills, and other related equipment.

  • Programming & Setup: Program machines using MasterCAM software; set up tooling and fixtures for diverse machining operations.

  • Manual Machining: Set up and operate Bridgeport and Manual Lathes as required.

  • Technical Proficiency: Read and interpret G & M codes; make necessary tool offsets, adjustments, and compensations.

  • Quality Control: Utilize precision measuring instruments to inspect finished products; perform in-process inspections and deburring to ensure accuracy.

  • Assembly & Maintenance: Assemble components as required and use hand tools for repairs or adjustments. Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting.

  • Material Handling: Load/unload parts into fixtures; maintain a clean, organized work area following all safety protocols.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Proven Background: Prior experience as a CNC Machinist in a manufacturing environment.

  • Software Expertise: Proficiency in MasterCAM programming is required.

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of tooling, fixtures, and precision measuring instruments.

  • Blueprint Literacy: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately.

  • Mathematical Skills: Solid basic math skills for machining measurements and calculations.

  • Attention to Detail: A sharp focus on quality control and precision.

  • Bonus Skills: Experience operating a Hi-Lo or Overhead Crane is a significant plus.
