Senior Project Estimator – Construction (Contractor)

Are you a seasoned Project Estimator with a passion for driving efficiency in construction projects? We’re looking for a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Project Estimator to join our team as a contractor. In this hybrid role, you will be a key player in supporting project management by developing, monitoring, and updating project estimates to ensure seamless execution. This is a great opportunity for an individual contributor to apply their expertise and make a significant impact on various large-scale construction projects.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and manage project estimates, including Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM), Budgetary, and Definitive estimates.

• Review and validate contractor and engineering bids for accuracy and optimal pricing.

• Analyze costs, perform risk analysis, and contribute to value engineering and constructability reviews.

• Review and challenge change orders to ensure cost and scope accuracy.

• Provide expert guidance on best practices for project estimating and controls, helping to improve our processes and standards.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support multiple clients within a dynamic, matrixed environment.

• Capture lessons learned and participate in after-action reviews to promote continuous improvement.

• Occasional travel to project sites may be required to support project teams and contractor walkdowns.

  What You’ll Bring

• A high school diploma or GED with a minimum of 10 years of job-relevant experience.

• An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field is a plus and may reduce the required years of experience.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex information and engage in persuasive interactions with all levels of the business.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Experience in a power plant or similar industrial environment is a plus.

• Familiarity with estimating software such as On-screen Take-off is preferred.
