Gas Transmission Pipeline Integrity Engineer (Hybrid)
Location: Hybrid (Remote/On-site) Detroit, MI Compensation: $75.46 per hour
Opportunity Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Gas Transmission Pipeline Integrity Engineer to join our team. In this critical hybrid role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance of our gas transmission pipeline assets through robust integrity management programs, comprehensive risk assessments, and rigorous engineering analyses.
Key Responsibilities
As the Pipeline Integrity Engineer, you will:

Develop and Maintain Programs: Develop and maintain the Transmission Integrity Management Programs (TIMP) in strict accordance with 49 CFR 192 Subpart O.

Risk and Threat Analysis: Conduct detailed risk modeling and threat analysis for all transmission pipeline assets.

Project Management: Serve as both Project Engineer and Project Manager for integrity projects, coordinating and executing in-line inspection (ILI) assessments, data analysis, dig selection, and ILI run validation.

Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate closely with various internal stakeholder teams on pipeline projects and infrastructure investments.

Engineering Review: Review and approve pipeline engineering designs and work order documentation to ensure compliance and safety.

Data Analysis and Mitigation: Analyze complex inspection data (e.g., smart pigging, ultrasonic testing, corrosion monitoring) to identify potential issues and recommend effective mitigation strategies.

Compliance: Ensure full adherence to industry standards, including ASME B31.8 and API 1160.

Support & Reporting: Support internal audits, regulatory data requests, and performance reporting.

Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders and regulatory agencies to maintain the highest levels of pipeline integrity and safety.
Qualifications
Required:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Industrial, or Petroleum Engineering.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in pipeline integrity management, compliance, or utility design.

Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with pipeline inspection techniques and integrity assessment methods.

Regulatory Expertise: Strong understanding of federal pipeline regulations and industry standards (ASME, API).

Software Skills: Proficiency in data analysis tools and GIS software (e.g., ArcMap, MS Access).

Core Competencies: Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
