Mechanical Assembler
Location: Pontiac, MI
Job Type: Full-time 40 hours, may work OT.
Salary: $17.50/hr.
Hours: 6am-2:30pm, or 4:30pm.
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Assembler to join our production team in Pontiac, MI. The Mechanical Assembler will be responsible for accurately assembling mechanical components and sub-assemblies into finished products according to specifications, blueprints, and work instructions. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency with hand and power tools, and a commitment to quality and safety.
Responsibilities:

Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and other technical documentation to determine assembly procedures.

Assemble, fit, and install mechanical components, parts, and sub-assemblies using hand tools, power tools, and automated equipment.

Position and align parts, manually or with hoists, ensuring proper fit and alignment.

Attach and fasten parts together using various methods (e.g., bolting, riveting, welding, adhesives).

Perform routine quality checks and inspections on assembled products to ensure they meet company and industry standards.

Identify and troubleshoot assembly issues, making necessary adjustments or repairs.

Operate and maintain assembly equipment and tools, ensuring they are in proper working order.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all safety procedures and protocols.

Accurately complete production and quality forms, documenting all actions and inspection results.

Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to streamline assembly processes and improve productivity.

Assist with other production tasks as needed.
Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

1+ years of experience in mechanical assembly or a manufacturing environment preferred.

Proven mechanical aptitude and ability to understand complex mechanical systems.

Proficiency in using a variety of hand tools (e.g., wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers) and power tools (e.g., drills, pneumatic tools).

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and assembly instructions accurately.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Ability to stand, lift, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods. (Ability to lift up to [50] lbs. may be required).

Knowledge of safety practices in a manufacturing environment.

Basic computer literacy for data entry and documentation.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

Experience with specific equipment or systems (e.g., robotics, specific machinery).
