Packaging and Shipping Associate

Are you a highly motivated individual with a keen eye for detail and a knack for precision? We’re looking for a dedicated Metals Packaging Associate to join a 1st shift team in Wixom, MI. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a crucial role in the production process, ensuring high-quality metal coils are meticulously prepared for shipment or inventory.

Pay Rate: $17.50/hr.

Hours: 6am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday

As a Packaging Associate, you’ll be responsible for:

• Building and assembling skids to exact customer specifications.

• Carefully taking produced metal coils off the line and packaging them according to customer requirements.

• Banding skidded items as per customer directives.

• Placing produced inventory on skids, weighing, tagging, and wrapping them using our computer software.

• Preparing finished coiled metal skids for shipping or returning them to inventory.

Our ideal candidate will bring the following to the table:

• Manual dexterity and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

• The ability to remain standing for the majority of work hours.

• Proven experience operating a forklift and overhead crane.

• The capability to read and comprehend policy, work instructions, and process control plans.

• A strong ability to package products to required customer specifications.

• Basic mathematical skills, including multiplication, division of fractions, and decimal systems.

• The ability to write legibly and comprehensively, with desired computer knowledge and experience.

• A commitment to working in a safe manner.
