Job Title: Throughput Simulation / Discrete Event Simulation Engineer
Location: Sterling Heights, MI 48312
Shift: 6:00 AM Start Time
Travel: Occasional short/extended travel to customer sites required

Job Summary:

Entech Staffing is seeking a skilled Throughput Simulation Engineer to estimate and improve process capability using discrete event simulation techniques, tooling/equipment downtime models, and reliability engineering. This role will support process optimization efforts during simultaneous engineering phases for advanced manufacturing projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project engineers and managers to gather customer requirements, process descriptions, and relevant data

  • Develop reliability models for tooling to estimate downtime impacts

  • Build discrete event simulation (DES) models to reflect process flow and stochastic behavior of equipment

  • Run simulations and apply statistical sampling to estimate process throughput

  • Use DOE techniques or iterative simulation runs to identify bottlenecks and key process influencers

  • Present findings to internal stakeholders and customers, offering actionable recommendations to enhance efficiency and meet performance targets

  • Clearly communicate simulation results to ensure integration into engineering and production planning

  • Continuously refine models based on feedback throughout the project lifecycle

  • Maintain a commitment to safety and environmental regulations in customer facilities

  • Support and participate in quality improvement initiatives and adherence to the company’s Quality System

  • Regular and predictable attendance is required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

    • OR 2–4 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience

  • Strong background in computer science and/or programming is preferred

  • Experience with Plant Simulation (Plant SIM) software is required

  • Knowledge of reliability engineering, DOE methods, and process optimization tools is a plus

  • Effective communication skills and ability to present technical findings clearly to diverse audiences
