Entech Staffing is looking for a Heat Treat Operator

Location: Detroit, MI

Schedule:  12-Hour Rotating Schedule Day and night shifts available.

Shift: 6:00 am to 6:00 pm or 6:00 pm to 6:00 am

Pay Rate: $18.00 an hour – starting, direct hire opportunities include an increase, profit sharing, benefits, etc.

The Role

We are seeking a reliable, safety-conscious Heat Treat Operator to join our team in our state-of-the-art automated heat treat facility. This isn’t just a “heavy lifting”job; you’ll be managing the flow of parts through advanced automated systems and ensuring our quality standards are met through every thermal cycle.  You must feel at ease on a hilo and operating an electric pallet jack.

Because we operate around the clock, this role requires someone comfortable with a 12-hour rotating schedule. You’ll work hard when you’re here, but you’ll enjoy more consecutive days off than a standard 40-hour work week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Forklift Operation: Safely transport heavy bins and racks of automotive/industrial components to and from the furnace lines.

  • System Monitoring: Oversee automated heat treat equipment, ensuring cycles are running correctly and responding to basic system alerts.

  • Loading/Unloading: Prepare parts for the heat treat process, ensuring proper orientation and spacing for optimal thermal processing.

  • Quality Inspection: Conduct visual inspections and basic hardness testing (training provided) to ensure parts meet customer specifications.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of production numbers and furnace settings.

What You’ll Need

  • Forklift Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a fast-paced industrial or warehouse environment.

  • Stamina for 12s: Ability to remain active and alert throughout a 12-hour shift.

  • Industrial Mindset: A strong “Safety First”attitude. Heat treat environments can be hot and require strict adherence to PPE and safety protocols.

  • Reliability: In a rotating schedule, your team depends on you to be there. Consistent attendance is a must.

  • Tech Literacy: Comfortable using basic computer interfaces to monitor automated machinery.

  • Previous Experience as a Heat treat Operator

Why Join Us?

  • Modern Facility: Work with advanced automation, not just old-school manual labor.

  • Detroit Strong: Be part of the local manufacturing backbone in the heart of the Motor City.

  • Built-in Overtime: 12-hour shifts often result in built-in OT and a consistent paycheck.
