Beverage Quality Control / Assurance Technician

Are you a meticulous and detail-oriented individual with a passion for food safety and quality? Entech Staffing is seeking a dedicated Quality Control / Assurance Technician to join a bottling service team. In this critical role, you’ll ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance, from raw materials to finished goods. Looking for a candidate with bottling or beverage experience.

Location: Detroit, MI

Pay rate: $23.00 – 27.00/hr.

Hours: 1st and 2nd shift open

Responsibilities:

As a Quality Control / Assurance Technician, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including:

  • Quality & Safety Monitoring:

    • Monitoring product food safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process.

    • Performing sanitation verification, ATP, and allergen testing on equipment.

    • Conducting various quality assurance inspections (visual, organoleptic, chemical).

    • Ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, as well as company and client standards.

    • Immediately reporting deviations, inconsistencies, or discrepancies to management.

  • Critical Control Point (CCP) Management:

    • Programming, documenting, monitoring, and maintaining Critical Control Points (CCPs).

    • Communicating CCP, quality, deviation, or compliance concerns with urgency.

  • Documentation & Record Keeping:

    • Accurately recording, maintaining, and filing all relevant record logs, inspection reports, and other documentation.

    • Maintaining and reporting raw material deviations to material standards.

    • Recording and maintaining test data for review, evaluating data, and drafting reports.

  • Equipment & Testing:

    • Operating and/or training on laboratory equipment such as refractometers, CO2 meters, scales, pH meters, water activity meters, and temperature probes.

    • Maintaining and recording calibration of quality control equipment.

    • Performing inspections on products, equipment, and machinery.

    • Conducting appropriate lab testing on products, raw materials, and equipment.

    • Monitoring, performing, and recording tests including Brix, pH, CO2, seam, specific gravity, titratable acidity (TA), and ascorbic acid.

  • Training & Compliance:

    • Adhering to all GMP and policies.

    • Following and ensuring other employees follow all Food Safety and worker safety practices.

    • Ensuring and educating employees on HACCP, Juice HACCP, and SQF standards.

    • Assuring appropriate GMPs are updated and followed (corporate, facility, and governmental standards).

    • Assuring sanitation standards are met and in compliance with corporate, facility, and governmental standards.

    • Training new and existing employees in all areas of GMPs affecting plant sanitation and product integrity.

  • Collaboration & Problem Solving:

    • Identifying quality issues to line supervisors and recommending corrective actions.

    • Working collaboratively with others to resolve issues.

    • Monitoring and documenting all production line QC activities as directed by the QA Manager.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bottling experience – working knowledge/worked in this plant or environment before.

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Certification (ex. GED)

  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).

  • Ability to read, write, and perform fundamental mathematics.

  • Excellent organization and time management skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to communicate critical control point (CCP), quality, deviation, or compliance concerns with urgency.

  • Previous manufacturing knowledge of HACCP, Juice HACCP, SQF, and GMP (highly preferred).

  • Bottling experience (highly preferred).

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to work in different temperature environments.

  • Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods, including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting over surfaces.

  • Willing and able to work any shift schedule, including weekends.
