Entech Staffing Solutions is seeking dependable, community-minded individuals to join our client’s team as Shelter Aides. This is a foundational, entry-level role perfect for students or those looking to gain “boots on the ground”experience in the non-profit sector. You will help create a welcoming and stable environment where residents feel respected and supported during their stay in our Emergency Shelter Program.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

  • Support & Advocacy: Build rapport with guests, respond to resident requests, and assist with conflict resolution or crisis situations.

  • Site Safety: Provide building coverage by monitoring grounds and surveillance equipment to ensure a safe environment for all.

  • Front Desk Operations: Screen visitors, answer phones (including crisis calls), and perform light clerical work (filing, copying, etc.).

  • Direct Service: Assist with meal delivery to families on-site and help coordinate client move-ins/exits.

  • Facility Care: Perform weekly unit inspections and assist in preparing living quarters for new families as they enter the program.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate daily logs and data entry to track the essential services rendered to our community.

What We’re Looking For (Requirements)

  • Education: Minimum of a High School Diploma (Associate’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health, or Hospitality is a plus!).

  • Professionalism: Ability to maintain strong personal boundaries and comfortably enforce program policies.

  • Attitude: A “can-do”team player with excellent communication skills.

  • Physical Ability: Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 lbs. for meal delivery and site tasks.

  • Reliability: Must have reliable transportation and a consistent work ethic.

  • Tech Savvy: Comfortable with Microsoft Office, Google Apps, and basic data entry.

Shift & Training Details

  • Regular Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM.

  • Part time Regular Schedule: 24 – 30 hours Sundays and Mondays consistently from 6pm to 2am. Remaining hours will be filled in by vacations, call offs, etc.

  • Training: New hires will undergo approximately two weeks of training (Shift: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM) to ensure you are fully prepared for the role.
