Location: Madison Heights, MI

Compensation: $23.00 -28.00/hr.

Position Summary

Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for precision and process excellence? Our client is seeking a Quality Control & Improvement Coordinator to serve as the final line of defense for their brand standards.

In this role, you will ensure that every piece of graphics and signage leaving our facility meets rigorous quality benchmarks and exact client specifications. Beyond simple inspection, you will be a driver of change—analyzing production data to implement continuous improvement initiatives that reduce waste, boost efficiency, and elevate customer satisfaction in our fast-paced manufacturing environment working with signage.


Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Inspection

  • Perform meticulous inspections of raw materials, in-process work, and finished signage/graphics to ensure 100% compliance with design specs.

  • Promptly document and report quality issues, defects, or non-conformances to production leadership.

Process Monitoring & Compliance

  • Maintain and enforce strict QC procedures throughout the entire production lifecycle.

  • Ensure all output adheres to company policies, industry standards, and safety regulations.

Improvement Planning & Implementation

  • Analyze quality data to identify trends, recurring bottlenecks, or systemic issues.

  • Collaborate with Design and Production teams to develop and execute corrective/preventive action plans.

  • Lead continuous improvement projects specifically aimed at reducing rework and material waste.

Communication & Training

  • Act as a mentor to production staff, providing real-time feedback and guidance on quality best practices.

  • Facilitate training sessions for team members on updated procedures and new improvement initiatives.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain organized, accurate records of all inspections, audits, and corrective actions.

  • Prepare regular quality performance reports for management review.


Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven background in Quality Control within a manufacturing environment (experience in graphics, signage, or branding is highly preferred).

  • Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret complex construction documents, manufacturing specifications, and technical blueprints.

  • Data Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data tracking, analysis, and reporting.

  • Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and the communication skills necessary to collaborate across departments.

  • Adaptability: Proven ability to thrive and remain organized in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Deep knowledge of color management, various substrates, and large-format printing processes.

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.

  • Experience in the signage and architectural branding industry.
