Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and reliable Tool Crib Attendant to manage our facility’s inventory of tools, equipment, and manufacturing supplies. In this role, you will be the central point of contact for the facility’s workforce, ensuring that technicians, machinists, and production staff have the exact tools and materials they need to keep operations running smoothly. The ideal candidate will have strong tracking skills, a solid understanding of manufacturing or industrial tools, and a commitment to maintaining a clean, highly organized, and safe workplace.
Key Responsibilities

Inventory & Tool Management: Receive, store, log, and issue a wide variety of tools, dies, fixtures, safety equipment, and industrial supplies.

Tracking & Documentation: Maintain accurate digital or manual records of all items checked in and out using our inventory management system.

Quality & Maintenance Control: Inspect returned tools and equipment for damage or wear. Clean, lubricate, and perform basic maintenance as needed, and tag faulty equipment for professional repair or calibration.

Sourcing & Ordering: Monitor inventory levels of consumable items (e.g., inserts, drill bits, safety glasses, gloves) and generate purchase requisitions to replenish stock before shortages occur.

Vendor Receiving: Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders to ensure accuracy, inspect for quality, and stock items in their designated locations.

Organization & Safety: Maintain a clean, secure, and orderly tool crib environment. Adhere strictly to all company safety guidelines and OSHA regulations.
Qualifications & Skills

Experience: 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing, automotive, warehousing, or industrial environment (experience specifically within a tool crib or inventory role is highly preferred).

Tool Knowledge: Familiarity with a wide range of industrial tools, precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers), and machining consumables.

Detail-Oriented: Exceptional organizational skills with a proven track record of maintaining meticulous data and inventory accuracy.

Physical Demands: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and comfortably bend, reach, or climb ladders to organize inventory.

Communication: Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills to work effectively with production teams, supervisors, and outside vendors.
