Position Overview
Entech Staffing Solutions seeking a detail-oriented Chemical Laboratory Technician to support the daily operation of our electroplating processes. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing production process tanks, maintaining chemical control, and ensuring all plating solutions remain within established operating specifications.
Using wet chemistry techniques, titrations, and Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS), you will perform routine chemical analyses, interpret test results, and calculate/assist with chemical additions to maintain process stability and product quality. This role is critical to meeting customer quality requirements and maximizing production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Chemical Analysis & Process Control

Collect representative samples from electroplating process tanks according to established schedules.

Perform chemical analyses using volumetric titrations, pH testing, conductivity, and other wet chemistry methods.

Operate and maintain Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) equipment to measure metallic concentrations.

Compare analytical results against operating specifications and calculate required chemical additions.

Safely execute chemical additions to production tanks following established procedures and safety protocols.
Data Tracking & Quality Assurance

Record and maintain laboratory data accurately.

Monitor chemical trends in process chemistry and report abnormal conditions to laboratory supervision.

Assist in troubleshooting plating process issues related to chemical imbalances.

Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance process capability and chemical utilization.
Laboratory Maintenance & Safety

Prepare standard solutions, reagents, and calibration samples.

Perform routine calibration, cleaning, and preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment.

Follow all laboratory safety procedures, chemical handling requirements, PPE guidelines, and environmental regulations.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment using 5S principles.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
-
Industrial chemical laboratory experience OR 5+ years of hands-on electroplating experience.

Strong mathematical and analytical skills.

Proven ability to accurately follow laboratory procedures and written work instructions.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic computer applications.

Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while supporting production operations.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Direct experience performing chemical titrations.

Experience operating Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS), ICP, or similar analytical instrumentation.

Previous background in electroplating, metal finishing, water treatment, or chemical processing.

Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data trending.

Practical knowledge of acids, bases, hazardous chemicals, and proper PPE requirements.

Understanding of electroplating chemistry, including zinc, zinc-nickel, tin, phosphate, or chromate conversion coatings.
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift.

Ability to safely lift and move chemical containers as required.
