CNC Maintenance Technician

Location: Shelby Township, MI Compensation: Starting at $26.00/hour – $32.00/hr. Shift: 1st shift 7am-3:30pm

Are you a mechanical problem-solver who enjoys keeping a high-precision shop running like a well-oiled machine? We are looking for a skilled CNC Maintenance Technician to join a team. You’ll be the go-to expert for our production floor, ensuring our CNC lathes, mills, and support equipment remain in peak operating condition.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary mission is to minimize downtime through proactive maintenance and rapid-response repairs.

  • Machine Upkeep: Perform regular inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and adjustments on CNC machines to ensure maximum efficiency and accuracy.

  • Expert Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and software-related issues.

  • Preventive Maintenance (PM): Schedule and execute routine PM tasks to catch small issues before they become costly breakdowns.

  • Facility Equipment: Maintain and troubleshoot auxiliary equipment, including forklifts and overhead cranes.

  • Inventory & Records: Order and stock critical spare parts and maintain detailed digital/physical records of maintenance history and repairs.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with CNC Setup personnel and operators to identify potential issues and streamline machine performance.

  • Safety First: Strictly adhere to all safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.

Qualifications

We are looking for a technician who is as comfortable reading a schematic as they are turning a wrench.

  • Education: Associate’s degree or technical certification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related field.

  • Experience: Proven track record maintaining CNC Lathes, Mills, Grinders, Hydraulic Broaches, and Saws.

  • Software Literacy: Familiarity with FANUC and SIEMENS interfaces.

  • Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and electrical schematics.

  • Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving abilities, and clear communication skills.

  • Safety Knowledge: Full understanding of industrial safety standards and protocols.
