Location: Detroit, MI

Job Type: Full-Time | Monday – Friday (Weekend overtime opportunities available)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented Production Scheduler to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be the driving force behind our production flow—coordinating schedules, monitoring order statuses, and ensuring we consistently exceed customer delivery expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Workflow Optimization: Coordinate daily scheduling activities to maintain a seamless production flow and maximize on-time delivery.

  • Order Tracking: Monitor the status of assigned jobs to ensure work orders are released, processed, and shipped in strict accordance with customer due dates.

  • Data Management: Process accurate, real-time inventory and production transactions within our ERP/MRP system.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicate daily with manufacturing departments, operators, and plant management to prioritize and expedite critical or past-due orders.

  • Customer Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for customer scheduling inquiries, providing clear and timely updates on production status.

  • Inventory Control: Maintain first-in, first-out (FIFO) scheduling practices while effectively managing in-process and finished goods inventory levels.

  • Continuous Improvement: Analyze production data to identify opportunities to improve workflow, eliminate bottlenecks, and boost overall operational performance.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: Previous scheduling or production control experience in a job-shop or manufacturing environment is highly preferred.

  • Technical Savvy: Intermediate computer skills required (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook). Direct experience with MRP/ERP systems and production scheduling software is a major plus.

  • Adaptability: Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities with ease in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.

  • Core Strengths: Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with a relentless attention to detail.
