Quality Lab Technician

Warren, MI | $18–$20/Hour | Day Shift

Entech Staffing Solutions is seeking a dependable, hands-on Quality Laboratory Technician for a leading steel processing and heat-treating company in Warren, MI. This company is an industry leader in steel coil and bar processing, heat treating, and metal processing, with services performed in-house.

• Perform quality control testing and inspections on steel coil and bar products.

• Assist with steel heat-treating and metallurgical testing processes.

• Operate laboratory equipment, testing instruments, and measurement tools.

• Perform tests and record results accurately according to established procedures and specifications.

• Inspect steel products for quality, dimensions, and processing requirements.

• Use basic computer systems and Microsoft Office to document test results and maintain records.

• Follow work instructions, quality procedures, and safety requirements.

• Identify potential quality issues and communicate findings to the appropriate team members.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory and work area.

• Work closely with production and quality teams to support consistent product quality.

• Perform repetitive testing and inspection tasks with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Dependable and ready to work every day.

• Comfortable working with tools, measuring equipment, and industrial equipment.

• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and accuracy.

• Mechanically inclined and interested in learning technical skills.

• Comfortable working in a steel manufacturing, heat treating, or industrial environment.

• Able to follow detailed procedures and work independently.

• Safety-conscious and committed to following PPE and workplace safety requirements.

• Comfortable performing repetitive work requiring accuracy and consistency.

• High school diploma or GED.

• Basic computer skills, including email and Microsoft Office.

• Reliable transportation.

• Ability to safely learn and operate laboratory and quality testing equipment.

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

• Ability to regularly use stairs throughout the workday.

• Ability to work early morning hours, overtime, and occasional weekends as production requires.

Experience is helpful but not required in:

• Steel treating or heat treating

• Metallurgy or materials testing

• Quality Control / Quality Assurance

• Manufacturing or automotive manufacturing

• Steel mills or metal processing

• Machine shops

• Warehouse or material handling

• Construction or other hands-on industrial environments

• Hand tools, precision measuring tools, or inspection equipment

• Laboratory testing or quality inspection

This position is based in a steel processing manufacturing facility and quality laboratory. You will work around steel products, industrial machinery, heat-treating processes, and precision testing equipment while following all required safety procedures and wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
