Material Handler (Injection Molding / Plastics)

Pay: $17.00/hour
Shift: 2nd & 3rd
Location: Onsite, Pontiac/Lake Orion

We are seeking a hands-on, dependable Material Handler to support our injection molding operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their work and is comfortable helping wherever needed—not a position focused solely on driving a hi-lo.

Important: This role requires regular lifting, inventory tracking, scanning, and material movement. Hi‑lo driving accounts for approximately 30–35% of the job, not the majority.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive hi‑lo/forklift as needed (approximately 30–35% of shift)

• Mix materials and load/fill dryers

• Weigh raw materials accurately

• Track inventory using scanners and paperwork systems

• Relieve Machine Operators for breaks

• Assist with machine operation and general production support as needed

• Use pallet jacks and manual lifting when hi‑lo use is limited

• Maintain accurate documentation and records

• Take ownership of the quality of work performed

Required Experience & Skills

• Previous experience as a Material Handler

• Injection molding (plastics) experience strongly preferred

• Hi‑lo/forklift experience

• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs (no restrictions)

• Comfortable performing physically demanding work (mixing up to 6,000 lbs of material per shift)

• Basic math skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing; ratios and percentages)

• Ability to complete paperwork accurately

• Willingness to assist wherever needed (scanning, tracking, machine support, etc.)
