Position Summary
The Metals Service Center Coordinator serves as the critical technical link between our customers, sales team, and production floor. Operating in a fast-paced specialty metals environment, you will manage orders from initial quote through final shipment. This is not a typical “desk job”—it requires a sharp eye for technical specifications (alloys, tempers, gauges) and the mathematical proficiency to ensure every coil is processed to exact customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Customer & Sales Technical Support

Serve as the primary technical point of contact for assigned accounts.

Support sales with RFQs, quoting, and pricing documentation.

Navigate customer web-based release systems and provide real-time status updates/ASNs.

Initiate and complete the sales portion of APQPs.
Order Management & Production Coordination

Review customer purchase orders for accuracy regarding alloy, temper, gauge, width, and finish.

Math & Logistics: Calculate coil weights and tolerances; perform Metric to English measurement conversions to ensure processing accuracy.

Schedule processing time within the slitting schedule and coordinate packaging requirements.

Work closely with production, purchasing, and logistics to ensure on-time delivery.
Documentation & Compliance

Maintain accurate customer records and pricing in the Beehive ERP system.

Ensure compliance with traceability and certifications (CMRT, Reach, RoHS, etc.).

Prepare USMCA and Certificate of Origin documents.

Track and report monthly delivery performance and quarterly sales results.
Qualifications & Skills

Experience: 3–5 years of customer service or order management experience, specifically within metals, manufacturing, or industrial distribution.

Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with flat-rolled coil products, gauges, and slitting/processing is highly preferred.

Mathematical Proficiency: Must be comfortable performing arithmetic for numerical conversions and weight calculations.

Systems: Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel & PowerPoint).

Communication: Strong ability to communicate priorities and rush orders internally to minimize customer impact.
