Job Title: Electronics Repair Technician — Large-Format Displays
Location: Canton, MI
Shift/Hours: 1st Shift | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Monday – Friday, 1-hour lunch at 12:00 PM)
Position Type: Contract / Contract-to-Hire
Position Overview
We are seeking motivated Electronics Repair Technicians to join a leading contract manufacturing facility in Canton, MI. This position will support a new repair and refurbishment program for large-format commercial touchscreen displays used in schools nationwide, with opportunities to cross-train and support additional manufacturing and technical projects across the plant.
No specific display experience is required—full, manufacturer-led training will be provided! If you have hands-on experience building or repairing computers, mobile phones, tablets, TVs, or working in electronics assembly, you have the foundational skills we need.
Key Responsibilities

Diagnose & Repair: Troubleshoot interactive flat-panel displays (65″–86″) using step-by-step manufacturer flowcharts and test procedures.

Component-Level Work: Replace mainboards, power supplies, control boards, speakers, cables, and conduct full teardowns for LCD, backlight, and glass replacements.

Testing & Setup: Flash firmware, perform data wipes, and run functional and soak tests.

Documentation & Asset Management: Document repair steps and test results in tracking systems, photograph completed units, and harvest viable components from non-repairable units.

Workstation & Handling: Maintain an ESD-safe workstation and safely team-lift large display units.

Cross-Project Support: Assist with general technical, assembly, and plant projects as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements

Hands-On Technical Background: Experience in any of the following: cell phone/tablet/computer repair, TV/monitor repair, electronics assembly, EMS production, AV installation, or electro-mechanical servicing.

Fine Motor Skills: Comfortable handling small fasteners, delicate ribbon cables, and sensitive connectors.

Computer Literacy: Basic familiarity with Windows/Android operating systems; able to follow written work instructions and maintain accurate records.

Physical Requirements: Able to safely perform team lifts on large commercial display units.

Screenings: Must pass an ICHAT background check and drug screen.
Nice to Have (Not Required):

Prior ESD training or soldering experience.

Experience working in an RMA, refurbishing, or depot repair environment.
