Production Planner/Scheduler

Salary: $60,000 – $64,000 / year (Based on Experience)

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Production Planner/Scheduler to oversee production scheduling and outbound logistics at our Detroit facility. In this role, you will align manufacturing schedules with material availability, manage inventory levels, and ensure smooth delivery to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Scheduling & ERP Management: Create and maintain the daily/weekly plant production schedule in our ERP system; ensure accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and demand planning.

  • Inventory & Logistics: Monitor raw material availability and finished goods inventory; plan and track inbound/outbound shipments to meet customer delivery timelines.

  • Client & Vendor Liaison: Serve as a point of contact for customer inquiries, providing proactive production updates and shortage reports when needed.

  • Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve logistics efficiency, reduce transit costs, and eliminate operational bottlenecks.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 2+ years of production planning, scheduling, or logistics experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Software: Hands-on experience with MRP/ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Infor, Odoo, or similar).

  • Education: Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business.

  • Skills: Strong Microsoft Excel skills, excellent problem-solving ability, and clear communication skills across internal teams and external suppliers.
